The Jones-Johnson Family Ministry Foundation has its origins in an outreach of the benevolent ministry of Calvary Church.  For several years, Calvary Church has provided financial assistance for both adopted and foster children under the care of Marge Jones and Cheryl Johnson.  Over the last thirty years Marge has adopted 22 special needs children and together with Cheryl they have been fosterparents to over seventy special needs children.

In 2004, a group of individuals agreed to form a support team to assist Marge and Cheryl with their large, unique family.  This team, after much prayerful consideration, decided to begin the application process to form a non-profit corporation to assist this family and other families with special needs children. In June of 2005, the non-profit was incorporated.

The Board of Directors decided to name the organization The Jones-Johnson Family Ministry in honor of Marge Jones and Cheryl Johnson.

In 2009, the mission statement of the foundation was expanded to include mentally and physically disabled adults.  This change has enabled the foundation to assist additional disadvantaged individuals.
